We went to Long Beach with the intent of going to Catalina Island but we missed the boat. Instead, we decided to enjoy a few hours on the Queen Mary. What a ship! Parker did so much walking and we’re all pretty sore now. We had lunch on the sun deck. We met Melanie’s aunt Michelle and her friends Mike, Jeannie and their son Brett.
Uncle Pompy has died today, Wednesday, July 11, 2007… 4 days shy of his 64th birthday in Triumph, Louisiana. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 15, 1943 to the late Louis Melvin, Sr. and Gertrude (Breaud) Landry Scarabin. He’s the younger brother Louis Melvin “D.D.,” Jeffrey Mervin “Buzzy”, and the older brother of James Randolph “Jimmy”, the late Charles Reynolds “Charley”, Judith Ann “Judy” Willig, Wayne Michael and Minos Paul. He was married to Lillian.
Pompy served in Vietnam in January 1967.
Services are being held on the West Bank Sunday, July 15, 2007 (Pompy’s 64th birthday) while funeral services will be in Florida.
